We had aprx 2,300 followers on Instagram. Our announcement that we will stop posting there and switch to Pixelfed was one of our most popular posts. It received over 100 Likes and provoked over 20 comments. But: apparently only a handful of users followed our invitation and joined the Fediverse. I don’t understand people. #diday #instagram #dogfluencer #dogsOfPixelFed #seniordog #rescuedog
I left without telling anyone 😅 I never came across your account on Instagram, but glad to have found you here! Looking forward to the adventures of wheel powered doggo ❤️
I naively thought it might help to tell the Insta folks why and whereto I am leaving. It did not. Anyway: Happy to e-meet you!
@dogonwheels I know! I told my really good friends only outside from Instagram but the still did not change. And they were really always interacting with the content. Hope they make the change at some point. All the best for you and the dog as well!
I don‘t either but I hope you‘ll find nice peeps here! 😄
@dogonwheels #KingOfTheBongo Doing the right thing is not a popular choice
@dogonwheels a click is easier than typing in credentials for a new account. thanks for quitting facebook. doing pioneer's work! good luck! 💐

@dogonwheels That’s not so much “people”, as agents of choice, but two mutually supportive forces: toxically addictive sensory overstimulation algorithms, and the network effect.

By leaving you weakened the second force, but that’s in the Hemingway bankruptcy playbook — “slowly, then suddenly” — first stage at best now.

It’s a fight that can’t be won alone.

@dogonwheels You essentially got applause for walking out a door that most of the audience had no intention of walking through themselves.
That’s deep. 😁
@dogonwheels That’s a really nice photo.
