Having recently installed @jellyfin instead of emby, I have to say: It's really fucking cool(*)!

(*) IFF you use a Jellyfin client (web, mobile). I did intall the DLNA plugin, but it's severely lacking compared to embys. Most annoyingly, it won't work properly with my IDontKnowHowOld Pioneer radio (emby worked fine).

Sooo, suggestions for a radio with:
- FM and DAB
- DLNA
- Small frame, must fit easily on an already crowded shelf
- Remote control
- (optional) Home Assistant

#DLNA #Radio

@blindcoder I've made some commits on the jellyfin github for the DLNA plugin. I feel stuff started to go south with it when they separated the plugins structure a while back to not make them a part of the core application. The things I did for discovery seemed to work alright for a little while but then other changes were commited for it not working with other systems and broke it again. there are some things in the plugin that i couldnt wrap my head around with how it was supposed to be communicating on the network, and i started to feel that there were changes in jellyfin core that were causing issues with how the plugin communicated on the network but i couldnt find anything solid to log an issue about. i dont think there enough maintainers with enough dlna devices and dlna experience to fully test every scenario with that plugin right now. anymore i just use the jellyfin LG tv app.
@matt Ah, thank you for the explanation, that does make sense to me. I guess I'll need to look at running a seperate DLNA server for audio then, as I rely quite heavily on the functionality in my home.
