Staring at something until some kind of meaning starts to emerge: I've noticed that in the CMP-style advertising frames of the Paris metro there are actual two kinds of design for the flowers above the frame (weirdly described as "lotus flowers" by the RATP website). The rarer design, with the center shapes of the flowers looking like asterisks, can sometimes be found along line 7 (here, I found it at Marie d'Issy, line 12). #metro #paris #detail #obsession #ceramic #flowers #design #parismetro
Note: Line 12 of the paris metro is an (the?) archetypical Nord-Sud line, but at its extrema you can see a concentrate of the history of the Parisian underground: Falguière station with the only remaining yellow enamel sign of the entire system (alongside Parmentier), Pasteur with some of the few rare original Hte Boulenger & Cie tiles, and Corentin Celton/Marie d'Issy with more stereotypical CMP-style platforms. #history #signs #tile #parismetro #Ligne12 #design #obsession
