Dear #BikeTooters,

Silly question, perhaps, but if a bike tyre is tubeless, it will say "tubeless" on said tyre, yes?

Thanks in advance.

@ghost_shit Apparently not! (Quick check in shed). Three different tubeless tyres in there, one says "tubeless system" on the sidewall. Neither of the other two say it on the tyre, although the one that's still in its packaging says "Tubeless ready" on the cardboard package

@ajft Ta.

Did a quick search (omigod search engines are useless these days) and found a number of methods to identify tubed or tubeless. The one where you push the valve into the tyre without losing air seems to indicate mine is tubed, in which case, the leaky valve points toward a new tube?

@ghost_shit @ajft deflate and push the bead in, if you can see a tube it's got a tube, if you just got gunk all over your shoes it's tubeless :-)
@ghost_shit @ajft it's pretty common to run tubes in tyres marked tubeless ... Personally I reckon it's less hassle for the kind of riding I do.
