🇺🇸 Donald Trump threatened European allies that he would halt arms supplies to Ukraine under the PURL program if they did not help unblock the Strait of Hormuz, the Financial Times reports citing sources. Following these threats, on March 19 the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, and Japan signed a joint statement expressing readiness to contribute to reopening the strait. Later, some of these countries clarified that such actions would only take place after the end of the war. The joint statement was pushed by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. One source said that during talks with France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, Rutte explained that Trump had been “quite hysterical” over Europe’s refusal to help protect the Strait of Hormuz. ▪️Tonight, Trump is expected to address the nation. In an interview with Reuters, he said he would express “disgust” toward NATO for not supporting the United States in Iran and added that he is considering the possibility of withdrawing the U.S. from the Alliance. ▪️Today, U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker stated that Trump is currently reviewing everything — U.S. participation in NATO, support for European efforts in Ukraine, and any actions taken by the United States. 🪐 Subscribe to Live: Ukraine
