My bread didnt rise. Apparently 2022 expired yeast is not recommended..derp..

I tried anyways and made buns..nope.. doughy gross texture center..lesson learned..

Dissolve yeast in 20C water. All ingredients at room temperature.

‘Warm” tap water will murder yeast.

Can make a poulish — 1/2 c water, 1/2 c flour plus yeast. It should bubble up. If it doesn’t, there’s time to take a mulligan. I’ve used jar yeast, “bread machine”

Add to water first, then flour. Measure flour by weight,

@avlcharlie I feel your pain. One of my worst kitchen disasters was spending all morning making blueberry breakfast rolls (it’s like a cinnamon roll). Half way through baking, the juices bubbled over onto the bottom of the oven. The burnt juices started smoking and ruined the entire batch. A morning’s labor of love all sent to the garage. 😢
