Honestly, MS Office '03 was perfect. Well, Excel '03. Word 4.0 for Macintosh (1989) was just fine. XD
I have no idea how to sift between the viewpoints on this kind of thing; but it seems pretty dicey.
I have no way of actually verifying this, but it seems (according to certain parties' accusations) that whoever is calling the shots at The Document Foundation (i.e. the LibreOffice org) is pulling a Gnome Foundation and deciding to jettison whoever they don't like.
...but like... ten times worse?
