I watched the second Theroux 2016 Savile documentary a few days ago...as you do.

It was ressearch - someone I used to know who did the same reality-warping thing that Savile was good at, if at a smaller level.

I can attract people who see the abuse I went through and rather than use empathy, see it as an opportunity.

Yes, those people exist...they tend to glom onto ND folks with trauma. You need to read the signals early on...we never talk about what makes these manipulators tick. We just other them as 'evil monsters' but they are everywhere. At micro and macro levels.

But also I am surprised at the banality and orgnanisation of evil..that people DID know in both cases, Savile and Epstein...and did NOTHING.

They looked the other way, or didn't question it...and now claim a surprising lack of knowledge.

But it's clear from the files and also docs about Savile that some people DID know. Or had a clue...but power and money buys silence.

"If you were traumatised in childhood, there's a neurobiological and neurochemical change in the way you see the world. It makes you more vulnerable to having these things happen again, because it activates a much stronger “fight, flight, or freeze” response. And perpetrators can spot that. Perpetrators can see which individuals are vulnerable and which will have an overactive freeze response – and they prey on those people.'

This exact thing I was talking about!

I personally wasn't talking CSA, the abuse I had was of an emotional/psychological sort as a child.

But this is true, all abusers see this vulnerability as a 'in'. And it's far wider than just this case or children.

I have met adult perpetrators who do this to other adults. They get off on controlling people. And when I push back or point this out to mutuals I get told I am making stuff up or am exaggerating or 'should have said sooner'.

They don't ostracise these people or heed my warnings. I become the 'problem'.
