Technophile problems
Today on my way to work the battery of my rear derailleur ran out of juice.
"No problem" I thought, "just swap in the spare I am carrying."
As it turned out I hadn't charged the spare since the last time I swapped them.
"No problem" I thought, "I can charge them at work with the charger I am also carrying".
So I made it the last two kilometers to work without shifting.
As it turned out I didn't have a micro USB cable at my desk (anymore).
Luckily a colleague had one to charge their bike lights.
Problems I wouldn't have had with a cable actuated derailleur.

@baureo but this way you have something to talk about and you habe electeonic shifting… if that ain‘t enough, then I don’t know 😋
@baureo or without a bike at all.

@baureo

#cycling battery load

1 phone
2 shifter
1 derailleur
1 rear bike light
1 watch
1 bike computer
1 HRM

8 batteries total.

I don't ride in the dark so I don't have a front light. I don't use a camera or radar unit.

@Zygos @baureo 1 light I recharge often
1 rear light, replace battery once per season
1 camera
1 GPS
sometimes 1 watch, battery swap every x years (don't know yet)

5 batteries, 3 I have to worry about.

I'm going to replace the daily recharge of the GPS with a bike computer that needs recharging one per month (hopefully less).

Now I wonder if I should install some central battery. But all the wiring!

@dcz @baureo

How about a pedal based generator!

@Zygos @baureo I do have a dynamo wheel, but it's still cable headache.

Plus, nothing can progress until I build my own improvement on the Forumslader :P
