It's very neat, and solves a real problem.

The bad news is that it will never be deployed at scale.

The good news is that that's because we have something even better: Ordinary solar cells are cheaper, can be deployed in large or small arrays as appropriate, work even with diffuse light when cloudy, have no moving parts. Batteries are now cheap enough that they can deliver through the night at competitive prices and they are still getting cheaper. The future is now.
