Mushrooms lifting a metal strip off the ground! The strip is screwed into the concrete on the left, and to the right outside the frame!

I learnt reading Robin Wall #Kimmerer ‘s book Democracy of Species that the Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe) word “puhpowee” refers to “the force which causes mushrooms to push up from the earth overnight”.

What #puhpowee these soft beings have! After they save our minds from the #apocalypse they will reclaim the land from cities!

@bodhipaine They look like great big potatoes! There's one popping out the ground in front of my window. Enormous, soft, mushy, and, apparently, loved by squirrels.

@bodhipaine I don't know, but they're clever little rascals! They always seem to know when something edible is growing in my barrels! Caught one this morning checking out my maters. Not a single fruit yet, and they're already scouting the terrain!
