Project-Based Learning, when properly implemented, is a springboard for connectedness and community building. And no matter what the broligarchy try to tell you, these are what we need most urgently, and what will carry us through the polycrisis of late capitalism.

When learners focus every day on creating something they find meaninful, or that their community needs - and when they consistently work together to do so- they develop exactly the skills that robots neither have nor can defeat. They become skilled in being in kinship with one another, and with everything around us.

Again, this assumes proper and consistent implementation of PBL. PBL is just scaffolded, supported, experiences of the deep complexities of life. It is learning through experience in multiple dimensions, without those experiences needing to be traumatic or harmful. A chaperoned exploration of the facets of being human is what we have always dreamed #education could be, and this formula lies at our feet.

Most powerfully for me, learners who work on meaningful, authentic projects in structured collaboration learn to reject the colonial ideologies of 𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 + 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 .

There is no one winner: to win is to create a shared gain. There is no instant gratification, no hollow grade that lives only on paper. The process and the experiences in it are the reward, and the outcome is but another opportunity to think critically and creatively about what we could learn next.

Project-Based Learning defines skill targets by what the community values, what improves our lives. Thus, it stands in opposition to colonial ideology and to the vampire class's ideologies, and provides a scaffold for building 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 #𝘀𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘁𝘆 in manageable steps.

Project-Based #Language Immersion is a pathway to a different way of educating, and brings languages back to communities through shared experiences of life. I'm so grateful for the chance to help with our intertwined #liberation.
