I've had this #earworm stuck in my head, and it's some kind of #ShibuyaKei #bubblegum #madness.
I finally realized where it's coming from. It's the default music that plays inside my apartment in Shirogane in #FFXIV.

OMG MIN'NA IT'S REALLY CALLED PA-PAYA.
and it's the theme music for the Hatching-tide event.
So, in case you are unfamiliar with #ShibuyaKei, it was a prominent outgrowth of late 1980s-early 1990s Japanese alt/underground pop music. Perhaps no band is associated with the genre more visibly than #PizzicatoFive, of which I am (of course) a huge fan, and they were certainly the band from the scene that had the most global impact. Nomiya Maki-chan is my #oshi.
Seriously one of the best subgenres of popular music ever. #ShibuyaKei
