This 10-day mission carries four incredible astronauts who are about to make history:
Reid Wiseman (Commander): A veteran who has already spent 165 days on the ISS.
Victor Glover (Pilot): Making history as the first person of color to leave LEO.
Christina Koch (Mission Specialist): The record-holder for the longest single spaceflight by a woman, now the first woman headed to the Moon.
Why Artemis II Matters 🌕
Unlike Artemis I (which was uncrewed), this is the ultimate "stress test" for the Orion spacecraft and the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket.
Life Support: For the first time, Orion's environmental systems will be keeping humans alive in deep space.
The Trajectory: They’ll use a "free-return trajectory," meaning Earth’s gravity will naturally pull them back if something goes wrong.
