“My dad is going in for brain surgery after a stroke” to “nm he’s awake now” to “my dad is driving us 4 hrs round trip” is one hell of a 24-hr emotional whiplash. Didn’t have the situational awakeness (7am my ass) to word the protest when we set out and he was and stayed in the driver’s seat.
