The Ellisons are as dangerous and extreme as Elon Musk. Beware. Be very concerned.
@georgetakei

America does not offer real news.

Real news tells the whole story — the wonderful, the good, the bad, and the ugly. It reports on politics without being political. That means it’s not conservative, progressive, or even moderate. Real news doesn’t give you its opinion — it sticks to facts and then lets you think for yourself.

Real news is a public service — freely accessible to everyone, not just the elite. If the general public must pay a subscription (paywalls) to access the news, it’s not truly public, and it’s not real news.

Real news doesn’t take sides in war reporting. War is ugly. Awful things are done by all sides. A credible source shows the truth on every side, not just the one that fits a certain narrative.

Take the conflict between Israel and Palestine, for example. It has lasted decades. If a news outlet always portrays one side as righteous and the other as evil — that’s not real journalism. Both sides have committed atrocities, and real news should report that.

I'm not sure if you included those as examples of good or bad news outlets (all three are state sponsored)

International news

Yea, one needs to read the news from international sources, but....like #globaltrade and the #supplychain we see international is more complicated

IMO, all 🔵blue, if it's 😈purple 🤬orange or 👹red, not for me

@georgetakei

We are depending on The Guardian, Al Jazeera, the Middle East Eye… to tell us fragments of the truth. US media is long gone.

@georgetakei Support independent news like @ProPublica and @404mediaco

Prefer things (no just news orgs) that are organized as worker co-ops that are nigh immune to VC takeover.

@georgetakei
Billionaires will not save us.

@georgetakei - except the press was broken long before Cheeto Mussolini entered the chat; how do you think he was able to do so in the first place?

Trump didn't break the news - the news broke itself & Trump is the result.

@jwcph Acosta is now seeing the light? He played a big part in enabling this.
@georgetakei someone maybe should have a look to see what skeletons they have in their closets. A well-motivated journalist perhaps?
@georgetakei Wasn't the eventuality of a tyrannical government supposed to be the reason y'all need to have all those guns? Well, here IS a tyrannical government!
@Eetschrijver @georgetakei Nope, it was just for shooting childeren.
@georgetakei I consider them more dangerous than Musk.
@georgetakei Ellisons are fucked up and have been since the get-go.
@georgetakei do keep in mind, when Bernie Sanders ran against Clinton and Biden, all these news outlets with no pressure from the pedo in chief got behind those candidates and smear and derail his campaign... Why? They always did what the oligarchy wanted and Bernie was a very minor inconvenience to them. Now it is just that oligarchy wants to be in full control, not even bother to pretend people should have a say.
@georgetakei Fundamentally the USA has a billionaire problem. Combined with a critical shortage guillotines, er, I mean a wealth tax, it leads to very bad outcomes.
