@bodhipaine I used Beeper for a while. It’s just an app that works as a multiplatform client. It’s not decentralised & not federated. It just brings all your accounts in one environment/window. As WhatsApp always automatically disconnects after a while, I had to constantly reuse my old phone to reopen WhatsApp for syncing. It never set me free from Meta at any point. Maybe it will improve. But I never got free from WhatsApp work and family connections apart from separating my old and new phones.
