@UberZeitgeist

When is No Kings Day?

Every day is No Kings Day!

@UberZeitgeist Psst take out the contraction in the middle line — as written it’s only six syllables ;)
@josh -- Every day's a good day - Ev-e-ry day's a good day - 7. Every is three syllables, not two... ;)
@UberZeitgeist Hmm. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. 🤨
Mmm.
@josh In Ohio we say ev-e-ry - some localities across the US leave out the middle syllable and just say ev-ree - but we're proud eastern Midwesterners, so we use every syllable. Plus my BA is in English, so there's that, too. Plus I'm a lawyer who writes for a living, so there's that, too. Plus I've now written 1,201 sequential daily haiku, so I'm very obedient to the meter.

@UberZeitgeist Hmmmm. I live 20 minutes from Ohio in Pittsburgh and I’ve a long (and boring, I’ll spare you) family history of English majors and teachers and writers.

I grant you your haiku structure is sound but I still 🤨 at your generalization of pronunciation for the region.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm 🧐

@josh Yinz have your own dialect there in Pittsburgh....and my family is five generations in NE Ohio. Pittsburgh's not in the Midwest - even the old Midwest - but its distinct dialects draw strongly from both the Pennsylvania Dutch heritage and the Ohio Valley triangulating there along the three rivers. We have a Pittsburgher married into the family, so we're the victims of his unique form of communication. It's past breakfast now - jeet yet?
@UberZeitgeist “Jeet jet”. And not all of us talk like that.
@josh - I can see that you'll not be satisfied by trifling. Pity. Enjoy you day.
