Any #FediChurch folk out there with Order of Service for the BCP 1928 Revision (CofE)? Just discovered the service sheet I've been given for the service tomorrow only has the responses in it!
Actually - don't panic I think I can get away with Order2

@Waxingtonknee Pretty sure that to preside using that rite would be both illegal and a breach of one's ordination vow to use only such orders as are deemed lawful. That being said and if your conscience is clear, the link below may be of use.

1928 Proposed Book of Common Prayer: Alternative Communion

The 1928 Proposed Book of Common Prayer of the Church of England

@underseamonkey Yes. Well. I certainly wouldn't if I were incumbent, but in my current role I have to manage all sorts of anomalies that get filed under "For the next Priest to fix"
@Waxingtonknee As Leo said to Bartlet, let that be the next guy's problem.
@Waxingtonknee @underseamonkey can you not help the next incumbent by at least regularising their worship? It's then one less battle for them to encounter?
@vicarvernon @Waxingtonknee I would venture only with a) A sustained residency and b) The agreement of the Archdeacon. Not only do these things take time but they breed resentment that will he directed "up". Have the AD on side and they will absorb any opprobrium.

@vicarvernon @underseamonkey My role is one that is about encouraging parishes to embrace change, but I have to prioritise what change, and fiddling with worship is counterproductive when we really want them to think big picture.

It puts backs up, but if I do my job right I can get them to a place of discernment that will enable the next incumbent to effect the long term change that might include worship...
