I may end the month slightly shy of my goal due to my ongoing mental health struggles, but I have managed some interludes I think people will enjoy reading. And that's something to be happy about. :)
Have an #excerpt from what I'm working on today and probably tomorrow
...
Braaklyn stretched out in her living room pond, watching the light shining from the skylight spread in a prism through the water over her head. Her gills fluttered and her eyes drooped sleepily.
She couldn’t nap here, though. For one thing, the larger pond was kept at a lower temperature than her sleeping pool and she’d wake up all stiff as a result. For another, her pet itherae hadn’t had their midday snack yet. And those sweet little river dragonettes could turn into totally nasty monsters if their snacky-fish were late. She could envision it with clarity: she snoozed off only to wake up missing several fingers while her petite roommates slept happily curled around distended bellies and in possession of a new taste for nixie flesh.
Besides, she was due at the pub.
