Sweetest mashup I've ever made, a reverse of one I made 3 years ago. Almost never do this. I assume people will jump on making the inverse if it gets any traction, but seemingly nope.

Fountain of Wayne vs Taylor Swift - think I might prefer this version?

tbc aka Instamatic - Dorothea's Reversing Into Hackensack (Fountains of Wayne vs Taylor Swift) I almost never make mashup industry' *ahem* people call inverses - reverses of tracks I make...I usually try it both ways *double ahem* and often the way I do it works best. This is a rare exception - a mashup I made 3 years ago. I always assume people will just make inverses if you make a mashup that gets attention - the original made a Bootie best of as a bonus track, played a fair bit on Bootie's Twitch stream - but nope. And it's another for the 'flannel 1990's challenge' and bending a few rules - firstly yes Taylor wore flannel on the cover of Evermore where this song is from 😛 Yes Fountains of Wayne were a 90's band - Radiation Vibe was a total jam of mine in '96, they toured with Smashing Pumpkins - but this song came out in 2002.... And it's the sweetest mash I've ever done. I made it for a laugh, and thought dropping Taylor down one semitone would fail, and it would just be for lulz but actually...it works? And it's just...*swoon* Fountains Of Wayne - Hackensack Taylor Swift - Dorothea

And here is the original version - the reverse so to speak https://remix.audio/track/41417/
tbc vs Captain Obvious - Dorothea from Hackensack (Taylor Swift vs Fountains of Wayne) - remix.audio

tbc vs Captain Obvious - Dorothea from Hackensack (Taylor Swift vs Fountains of Wayne) Over 2 years ago Adam Schlesinger died, and I was gutted since Fountains of Wayne were a bit part of my post-Britpop comedown listening (less Stacey's Mom, more Radiation Vibe). And their best song was never a single, it was a later album track called Hackensack - even Katy Perry covered it! So I was discussing FoW as Lewis Wake had recently done a FoW mashup for the last Crumplbangers Discord Challenge. I pointed out that Taylor Swift probably borrowed the 'hometown love of a star' theme from this song...they are almost the same tempo and 1 semitone apart as well. So of course I had to mash them...even though I'm officially on 'holiday' until 2023. And it turned out to be probably one of the best things I've done. It has ALL the feels. I know far too well what being stuck in a small hometown longing for someone distant or for the 'Glamorous Life' is like - So of course I had to mash them...even though I'm officially on 'holiday' until 2023. And it turned out to be probably one of the best things I've done. It has ALL the feels. I know far too well what being stuck in a small hometown longing for someone distant or for the 'Glamorous Life' is like - hold my alcopop and Spar chipsticks, I have this one! As I said on the Bootie Chatpod: 2023 IS EPIC! All about the epicness I think. And I've been accused of being a Swiftie. Not exactly, I just find her themes of her last two albums and her remakes inspiring. She I think has come into her own, matured a lot recently. Taylor Swift - Dorothea Fountains of Wayne - Hackensack
