It's been a while since I posted #MusicFromTheMotherland but there were some great soundtracks in the various films at the festival. Last night I saw COTTON QUEEN about a Sudanese woman and her fight to preserve natural cotton versus GMA seed, among other issues. Artist Amira Kheir is featured on the soundtrack. Here's a taste of her music. https://youtu.be/ofOxEtEzIyw

@fulanigirl wow, I hope I get to see the film someday. I just began growing and working with native cotton, which is technically illegal in my state and has almost become extinct.
@PermaSolarPotter Good luck with your efforts. In the film the big "man" from the city comes to talk to the villagers and convince them to give up the natural cotton that produces its own seeds for genetically engineered ones that have no seeds and need to be purchased every year. The farmers were dreaming of riches but the young woman understood the plot. The film was co-sponsored by the Environmental Film Fest. Maybe you can find it through those circles.
@fulanigirl A familiar story. Thanks so much for sharing. I’ll search around.
