#Idaho lawmakers on Friday approved #legislation to #criminalize the use of bathrooms, locker rooms or changing rooms, even in private businesses, by people whose sex at birth does not match the facilities’ sign on the door.

Senators approved 28-7 what might be the nation’s most restrictive #transgender bathroom bill Friday, after the Idaho House approved the ban last week. Gov. Brad Little, a #Republican, is expected to sign it.

The #legislation makes it a #crime for a person of one “biological sex” to “knowingly & willfully” enter bathrooms, locker rooms or changing rooms “designated for the opposite” sex. Violating the #law would be a #misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in #prison. A second offense within five years would be a #felony, carrying up to a 5-year prison sentence.

Now I could go to jail because I'm an old man and I stopped at a gas station because I REALLY NEED TO PEE RIGHT NOW?

In a small business, lol…. I once led a feminist rebellion and hostile takeover of the upstairs men’s bathroom at a Tori Amos concert in Oakland bc it was either that or I’m gonna piss myself right there on the mezzanine, and then it’s everyone’s problem

@Nonilex I presume every home or accommodation in that state will now be mandated to have two bathroooms, so no male in the residence will use the same facility as any female in the same residence.
Only female staff to clean and maintain female facilities; and only male staff to clean and maintain male facilties. Hopefully plumbers and outfitters will be available as male and female to kit out or do any essential maintenance also.

So these lawmakers actually want to enforce a reality that doesn't exist *naturally* or *socially* - with the argument that *nature* and *society* would contradict factual reality.
