Tim ChambersI'm starting to kick around ideas for a #FASP for social feeds. @evan has suggested one for global hashtags, and the #Fediscovery folks are doing one for search. It feels like "feeds" is a missing & @Flipboard, @surf and @newsmast and others have great feeds in the wild now. And I think, correctly me if I'm wrong @darius that the exact new feed format is being sussed out at the WC3. I think maybe the time is right to consider what a Feeds FASP might be. I like the idea of a tag that could be used with any addressable object: post, photo, web page, feed—at the object level and extendable to tag fine-grain content. Tags could be independently indexed for any use.
A protocol for local and federated tag indexing would then be a valuable WC3 scale standard. One challenge would be to defend against tag spamming or gaming.
This might require a protocol for trusting indices and indexed sources.
