I guess as ordinary people we have to step up and conserve fuel, food, amenities etc ourselves. Don't drive if you don't have to. Stop online shopping for that thing you don't need, so no need for delivery...
We can do better than those in charge.

@tazyas Practice and attention to shopping lists will help. It was only after travelling home on the bus with five bags of shopping that I discovered it should have been six bags! I phoned up and went and collected the sixth bag the following day.

Splitting a supermarket by car shop into smaller shops by bus works, if a person can carry the loads and if they have nearby bus transport and time.

I'm lucky to have all of that.
