I used to use RSS to get my news.

Then I moved away from RSS. I used Google News for a while, and then Flipboard.

I'm back to RSS, and I don't see myself going back to anything else.

With RSS, I can filter out the crud.

Sports? Crud.

Stupid opinion pieces by stupid authors? Crud.

Ads disguised as news articles? Crud.

Videos? Also crud.

I can still read a news source and filter out all of the above. This wasn't possible with Google News or Flipboard.
