For my amazing band of musicians, this is just another day's work, accelerating early career stuff, but for way-elder me, this is not just "among the Last Times", this is a dream come true, 10am tomorrow truck downtown to record MY band, at fucking ska-legend Kensington Sound where I studied studio engineering 45 years ago, and record ON THAT SAME 100% ANALOG GEAR, recording these amazing (grammy-class) kids'n'me in basically Rudy Gelder BlueNote style: set 'em up, roll 'em Jimmy, and knock 'em down, two count 'em two takes, Di-rect to Revox reels that I get to hold in my hands and take home. O. M. F. G.

What gets me a little is these tickets are free (we'll hit you up to feed the kitty later) and yet they didn't 'sell' in a flash.

We got the verified damn BEST of under 30 jazz artists in Canada doing MY punk-jazz, and only The Select wants to witness it in person? Bravo to all you, btw but hey, forget the grammy-winning kid, MY Duchamp Number is TWO! Twice! Beat that! My Real Bacon Number is also two, but not as solid. Ok, in 2026, maybe neither is the best sales pitch. But whoa, back in the day …

@donaldham this recording will mark the first time anyone requested my guitar skills for a studio thing, and me 'n' my '56 Gibson and '48 amp get to comp three tunes, and an 8-maybe-16 bar solo in semi-tribute to Piaf/Aznavour/Gainsbourg. #iamdreaming
