@drewtowler @cacu False equivalence. Running a server isn't the same as running a constantly expanding and collapsing amount of useless information and slop to the point where it creates noise pollution that sickens local wildlife and actual fucking humans. A server for Mastodon *doesn't* have this impact and will never require the same processing power.

@desantis @cacu Wasn't even thinking about Black Mirror actually. Was just thinking of all the robot dogs the military, police, and security forces have and know there's no fucking way in hell a data center lets a bunch of poors steal water without there being a bunch of blood released.
