A #whiteStork for #WildlifeWednesday

They're back! I spotted my first #stork of the season in the nest closest to us on Monday. πŸ₯Ή This photo is from last year, taken just before they migrated. The stork is perched on a nesting aid, though this particular family prefers their organic nest in a tree. Meanwhile, the other pair in #Biederitz has made a chimney in the heart of the village their home.

That's a big chicken! ✨
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ My chickens would probably peck it to pieces, set off by those red legs ... πŸ§Ÿβ€β™€οΈ
Damn, you have tough chickens! πŸ˜‚βœ¨
πŸ˜‚ You have no idea! 🫣 Wait for my Birbsday post tomorrow. I'm still debating whether to add a CW
Oh god. I'm more invested in your chicken drama than I was in GoT. I'm imagining a Red Wedding style storyline at this point... 🩸 πŸ”πŸ©Έ
And rightly so! πŸ˜‚ Expect blood and plot twists! πŸ‘‘
We have lazy storks... They stay here all year long.

Until a few years ago, I had no idea that the migration patterns of storks could be so individual and varied. Some stay put, some migrate to Spain and Portugal, some migrate all the way to Africa ... I reckon it won't be long before they find enough food to stay in the North year-round too. Though the cranes might not be too pleased about that development πŸ€”
@meoralis yeah in some parts of Portugal we basically have them all year round… and now the same applies for flamingos 🦩
such lovely eyeliner they have…
πŸ˜† big emo chickens ...
