AmgineJust got back from a short little ride in #Duncan / #NorthCowichan to the Somenos Garry Oak Protected Area.
The park feels surprisingly remote, being mostly surrounded by <s>swamp</s>Lake Somenos and Somenos Creek.
The trails to the area were hit-and-miss: where they are graveled, they are fine. Where they are not, they are thicker swamp bed. (We have had a lot of rain.)
The lake is high, reaching nearly to the dike in some places. I took the road back, despite the cars.
