A quote written in a dark blue from Diamine.
(Sorry, this came in a cartridge with a pen so not exactly sure what blue it is.)

It is from Crimson Shore by Preston & Child and made me laugh.
If you have ever had to use a microfiche machine, you know it's true.

"Two hours later, Constance sat back in her chair, blinking. The microfiche machine was a wonder of hideous 1980s technology, seemingly designed to cause blindness through prolonged use."

@krparadis

It would have been nice if you could have had a small phone with a camera to take a picture of the screen, send it to Google Lens, and have it translated, ...but that wasn't the case.
I used one of those machines back in the '80s. After that, FEDLOG became a set of CDs that you read on a PC system with multiple drives. Don't I look old? I am!
😂

@rpla I knew I was old the first time I was in a library & got asked to help someone with a turntable.
@krparadis I always loved the look and idea of using them, and they're cool for short bursts. But if you needed to do heavy research with one it was absolute hell for your eyes.
@toga For sure. That is why the quote made me laugh.
