I thought this entire time that VHF repeaters just… didn’t have a lot of range—then I was informed that my clear-as-day “WV8IRD listening” occasionally interrupts ongoing QSOs—which in turn led me to figure out that my Baofeng AR-5RM just sucks and gets front-end overloaded unless I’m right up within just a few km of the repeater. Yeah, I need an HT that can actually receive. #hamradio #amateurradio #baofeng
