Last Tuesday, we visited Men Tsee Khang - the Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute in Dharamsala. Doctors and astrologers train for at least 7 years to provide health and wellbeing care to the Tibetan diaspora that sits alongside Western medicine, and is culturally safe.
Then we went to Norbulingka Institute to learn about Tibetan traditional crafts and art, including carving, metalwork, appliqué, and painting. Truly stunning buildings and gardens, with a Japanese influence in the architecture, and beautiful views of the snowy Himalayas.

Last meeting for the day was with NGOs advocating for a free Tibet and an end to human rights abuses: International Tibet Network, Tibet Watch, and Students for a Free Tibet.

This was part of a self-funded study trip organised by Australia Tibet Council.
