Another shot from Sunday, from a viewpoint of "sitting on the platform ramp" at Corfe. Fractionally better light on this side. #SteamRailway #Railway #SpamCan #CorfeCastle
@FourT4 We used to go to Swanage on holiday every summer. We were repeatedly tricked into remaining silent in the car by a game with the single rule that nobody could say a word until they could honestly say, or indeed sing, β€˜I can see Corfe Castle’.
@pete @FourT4
Still go to Swanage for a week every summer.......
@Guy @FourT4 My grandparents had retired there. I can still visualise the entire walk from their house down to the beach each day. Nice memories.
@pete @Guy the "I can see Corfe Castle" game is something Mrs Roach's family used to play as well, then _her_ parents retired to Swanage, and we would play the same game with our children. Just me and Mrs Roach drove down on Sunday and as the castle hove into view, guess what?

@Guy @pete @FourT4 "In Dorset?"
"Yes, it's very good"

@FourT4
Still of the view that Southern Railways made the ugliest locomotives.
@robpumphrey Q1. Whatever made you think that? πŸ˜ƒ

@robpumphrey Can't agree at all, they had the prettiest Moguls, the most lovely 4-4-0s (T9s and Schools) and the Pacifics are 😍. The S15s and Arthurs suffer from a too-fat boiler, but see also the V2, K1, County, Royal Scot, Crab) πŸ˜ƒ

Eye of the beholder!

@FourT4 I love steam trains πŸš‚
@keepsake it's amazing how many people do, the amount that πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ has preserved & still operates regularly is a great credit.
@FourT4 yes there is a great choice of heritage tracks and steam trains now.
