Edwin Groothuis"Going Dutch" is a American comedy about an US colonel being assigned to a military base in the Netherlands.
First thought was "Least I can do is sample it", as it is about something-something-Netherlands.
The location is "stroopdorf", which is a wordplay on "stroopwafel", the famous dutch syrup wafer, and "dorf", which is the *german* word for village.
The dutch brothel/teacher madam is played by... Catherine Tate, famous for Donna Nobel in Doctor Who. Her dutch accent in the english language is.... kind-of sometimes french and sometimes spanish and sometimes something else but not a dutch accent.
At least one of the soldiers has a germanic accent, and yes that is more german than dutch.
So far I've seen the first two episodes and I'm not sure if I'm going to finish the full first season.
