We recently had solar panels and a #HeatPump installed (by our landlord) at our house. So I am paying more attention to energy consumption for heating (just when we are probably reducing it)...
First step is to be visiting the Electricity Maps website https://app.electricitymaps.com/map/zone/NL/live/fifteen_minutes?signal=electricity-price
This can be somewhat addictive to revisit and then you notice weird things like the Netherlands apparently having more installed solar capacity than France. 1/2 #SolarPower #WindPower #GreenEnergy

This neat project by @bertrik decorates the @revspace #HackerSpace

After some time peering through the wiki, I found the project page, which cites a @bert_hubert article on Dutch electrical power generation.
Anyway - I may look at trying to replicate this, see if there is a Canadian API with comparable data.
It's more tempting now I realize that the circle of LEDs was bought a single unit...
This will just add to my queue of #UnfinishedProjects #Electricity #GreenEnergy

@bertrik @revspace @bert_hubert I think I found something like an equivalent for #Ontario provided by the #IESO Independent Electricity System Operator
In some ways Ontario looks a bit like France, the Netherlands and Norway mashed together. https://www.ieso.ca/market-data

@rmartinnielsen @bertrik @revspace @bert_hubert nice! Yeah i share the obsession a bit, we installed solar a few weeks ago, completing our gas->heatpump transition for heating, cooling and hot tap water. Currently our solar production equals our daily electrical consumption, its just time-shifted. So next year a battery will probably appear as well.
