Blue Bottle (Nestle) has refused to negotiate a contract for over a year. Please join #BBIU and boycott Blue Bottle until Nestle signs a contract. (My daughter is a barista at one of the #Boston stores, so you'd better believe this is personal to me.)

@dnkboston they're possibly the most expensive coffee places in the #Boston area (which is an impressive thing to say) and they won't deal with the union? Screw them, they can absolutely afford it.

@wordshaper Exactly. Part of me wants my daughter to get a job at a better place, but I support her wanting to improve workplace conditions. Why not a coffee shop?

Nestle can absolutely afford to pay their baristas a livable wage!

@dnkboston There is nothing wrong with honest work for honest pay and if she likes being a barista that's cool. And, as you say, it *should* pay a livable wage. They certainly have the revenue for it, and there's *no* excuse for not negotiating a contract regardless.
@dnkboston
I've never known of any times when Nestlé has made the RIGHT decision, other than when there's a massive boycott.
@EllenInEdmonton Seriously! I can't believe they're still allowed to stay in business.
@dnkboston
They're part of the billionaire club that just keeps on growing, absorbing legitimate small-scale businesses. I'd love to see more and more people going independent with more of their consumer dollars.
