Rachel Reeves doesn’t do long term planning or responsive action to help most people with their #energy bills.

There will be a cliff edge if she caps support to just the very poorest.

Handing out £150 to every household instead of continuing retrofit work of ECO4 was short sighted. Too little to cushion most people’s precarious finances and too much for the taxpayer to foot for no return.

I don’t think #ECO4 was responsibly managed by the energy companies…that was largely due to the #Tories leaving them to their own devices.

But the #retrofit work cannot overnight be picked up by other schemes.

#DESNZ thinks it can suddenly offer a tonne of money to local authorities and housing associations (previously linked to ECO4) with a ridiculous short window to spend it.

#Labour are showing they have no idea how to manage large scale projects and budgets.
