I use DuckduckGo but meanwhile most people are going to be accessing my website, and Bandcamp, with a Google search
It’s already been the case for donkey years that Google shows its own product (Youtube) as the top or only listing when someone searches for a musical artist. This will get worse
And sometimes the top item in a Google result is infringing. For example, the 1st result when you click on my Into the Trees album via their result page leads to an infringing YouTube video covered in ads.
I have zero faith they will use AI to remake my webpage in my anyone’s interest but theirs
(Oh to be able to fix typos)
I Heart NoiseFurther confirms my suspicions that their end goal is to replace social media and search engines with AI
And it will take a lot of fighting/massive backlash for that not to happen. That or AI bubble popping big time.

Hey, at least there is a UK based old school search engine now, that respects privacy, and does not use Google's index (like Startpage) or Microsoft's (like DuckDuckGo) at all - https://mojeek.com
Does it give great results all the tjme? Ummm, not quite, but at least it is a nice option to have, that is a "work in progress"
