This is a long shot but I wonder if anyone can help with the name or author of a children's story?

It's from a long time ago and the story is about a girl who has long dark hair. She covers the land with it (her hair) causing nighttime to fall. I don't recall how it ends. πŸ€”

If anyone has an idea of which story this is, or which it might possibly be, I'd really appreciate knowing.

Thank you all and boosts would really be appreciated πŸ€—

@grb090423 @stephanie I don’t know, but it sounds delightful!

@catnip @stephanie

It was! I remember I loved it πŸ€— I just wish I could find it again.

@grb090423 err.... this kinda sounds like the myth of goddess Ratri (the literal personification of the night) from the Hindu pantheon.

@Theorem_Poem

Hmm, I wonder if it's a take on that... πŸ€”

Appreciate your reply πŸ‘πŸ™‚

@grb090423 @modulux According to CoPilot, this is an African folk tale about a girl named Amara. Does that sound familiar?

@wiljames @modulux

Ooh...Amara... It doesn't ring any bells but that's not to say it's not that.

Thank you for trying πŸ‘πŸ™‚

@grb090423 perhaps you are describing the goddess Nyx

@TYB

I will look into this πŸ‘

@grb090423 Melania means girl w black hair (sic, look at the roots), from Greek melanos, I know bc my brother would have been called that if they were a girl. Maybe that helps?

@spellfinder

That's interesting. I didn't know that. Thank you! πŸ™‚πŸ‘
