*chuckles*
I think this post kind of explains my deep distrust of anything that grows in the ground. I have been a city dweller for all but 4 years of my very long life... And my roots are in New York, where snark and cynicism are developed at a very early age (3 or 4).

Attached: 1 image 2/ My LinkedIn profile used to say: "Bob is a longtime city-dweller who dislikes anything green and bushy unless it is grown in a container so it is easy to throw away when it dies." Which explains why I rarely shoot landscapes and flowers. Other photographers do nature way, way better than I can and I love seeing that. Me? I just shoot things that I see... which, living in a city, means mainly cityscapes and people. The more bizarre or irreverent or architectural or gay-sexy, the better. Anyway, since this is a special occasion, I will post something naturey. #photography #NatureyCrap
@BobHorowitz I see.
You would fit in well with the Spanish here. They have this attitude: if it's green, spray it with weed killer (olive trees excepted). In a few weeks the heat would kill most plants, but they have to get in first with the weed killer. It even gave Flo the shits a couple of weeks ago.

Oh dear.
My first impression of Spain: watching an old woman with a broom, sweeping the pavement of a highway near a toll booth, late at night. It reminded me of my Ukrainian-born grandmother, who lived to be 94 because her heart was strong from all the sweeping she did in her life.
@BobHorowitz That is very true. Older Spanish women seem to be obsessed with sweeping, especially the pavement in front of their houses.
I was once setting up my tripod and camera to take a photo in a very old village street scene. A woman came running out waving for me to stop. I thought she was going to object to having her house photographed. No! There was a bit of rubbish; she gave the pavement a quick sweep. I got a great bonus photo of her sweeping up!
@elaterite @BobHorowitz Here it is, by special request: the woman who dashed out to sweep the pavement in front of her house, especially for my photo.
The village is Miranda del Castañar, an amazing time-warp place. There is a great campsite nearby, El Burrro Blanco; I absolutely love the place.
@tapasinthesun @elaterite @BobHorowitz Miranda del Castañar, in the province of Salamanca. My city. ✌🏼
It is a very beautiful village, I prefer La Alberca or Mogarraz, for example, but it is worth visiting.
@tapasinthesun Ha ha, that is awesome!
