you guys remember the salt typhoon #salt #typhoon #hack #breech or whatever? there's one company out of all of them that I highly think have been breeched, even if it hasn't been published yet. I will explained in a minute of why this is.
equinix #equinix . more specifically, equinix fabric / #fabric . and here's why.
fabric is like a highway that connects the different major carriers. so #att , #verizon, #tmobile , all connected via this private network.
the problem is AT&T and Verizon say their core infrastructure. one part of their core infrastructure is the fabric network.

so my thought is that they were prbabyl hacked too, even if not said. CC: @[email protected] @[email protected]

@averlice @briankrebs Obviously centralization is an issue and I'd consider state-sponsored attackers criminally incompetent if they didn't compromize #IXP|s and #IX|es.

  • In fact, we all know that there's #Glimmerglass hardware spliced into the @decix 's PoP in NYC since before #PRISM so yeah, OFC all the major providers will have their #Govware - Infrastructure for "#LawfulInterception" broken into.
    • Espechally since these boxes usually have hardcoded credentials and allow anyone with access to use them for stuff.

I can't go into further details, but basically there is #logging, #recording / packet #capture & redirection infra that is transparent at every #ISP that isn't like exempt due to being less than say 10k subscribers / users …
