The Dennistoun Milestone on Duke Street in Glasgow. Created in 1991 by Jim Buckley, it has an interior space containing a number of local artefacts, including a clay pipe found at Whitehill School, a bottle of water from the Molendinar, a text about life in a Glasgow tenement and a tobacco knife from the nearby Wills Tobacco Factory.

It is one of seven Glasgow Milestones across the city commissioned to mark Glasgow's nomination as European City of Culture in 1990. For some reason, this one always reminds me of Rank Bajin, the arch enemy of Loby Dosser.

@thisismyglasgow Could you tell me more about the size of it? If you can step inside it it must be quite impressive.

Also Hooray for the Lobby Dosser and of course the only two legged horse I ever came acros.

@LappenjammerDieZweite It's about 1m tall, so probably too small to get inside! 😀
@thisismyglasgow That is a missed opportunity!
@thisismyglasgow how big is it? Very hard to tell from a picture. Looks like some sinister LoTR/Darth Vader castle :)
@bobthomson70 It's roughly a metre tall. The photo was specifically taken at an angle to make it look a bit more monumental. 👍🙂
@thisismyglasgow @bobthomson70 It looks like a flak tower, able to shelter 1000s of people. I will just ignore your clarification and keep the myth alive 😉
