They're using the #midterm #election in the #USA to do it. #AIPAC and the #Democrats use their #denouncements much like the #NRA uses its #ReportCard, now that they know how #unpopular they are. They use so-called #progressive #canditates to drag the #left edge of the #OvertonWindow rightward.
#This is #MovementCapture. It's the #RatchetEffect. They want to create #ControlledOpposition to #Israel and #imperialism.
This also applies to the #USmilitary #veterans and #cops running against Israel and #ICE.
They want to #contain #popular #opposition to #zionism and not let it apply to #USimperialism. They want to contain #AbolishICE and not let it lead to #AbolishThePolice.
Do not #reward this #strategy with your #vote or your #support.
It reminds me of #Myanmar and #SriLanka #nationalists calling #Rohingya and #Tamil #people "zionists" (#ArunAnnow talks about this happening often).
Using a major ongoing #genocide they can rally people against as a prop to justify a genocide they support. Climbing to #power on a pile of bodies. And blatant #DARVO tactics.
And yes, this does also mean that the same people who called you #antisemitic to #shame you for not rushing to #VoteBlueNoMatterWho are now calling you a zionist for the same reason.
Israel is just a #synonym for "bad" now in the popular consciousness, and rightfully so. But let's be clear: they're no more #unique or a #SeminalTragedy than the #Nazis who inspired them. Or #Russia, as #libs are always fond of using. There has always been mutual #fash and #SettlerColony collaboration with the US.
