For most of my adult life I've turned down most store points/loyalty cards because "I don't want to be tracked."

But I'm starting to change my mind. Companies are tracking us anyway. Even if I don't swipe a points card at the POS, they're still correlating my purchases via my debit/credit card & probably by my cellphone entering the store if not facial recognition via the cameras.

Why leave money on the table??

The #Loblaws data breach made me realize just how much info this company has on me even though I don't collect #Optimum points.

@syntaxseed I think you are right, I dislike this fact, but it is unfortunately the reality. Couple years ago, I asked the supermarket where we usually do our shopping to send me the data collected with our "point-card". Among other things, we got a PDF with 180 pages, listing every product we bought the previous 6 years, with time, location, price, etc.
I was weird looking through the document. 😐
