As Mrs. Doubtfire might say #amateurradio #hamradio #hfbands were "Wicked, Wicked, Wicked" due to #geomagneticstorm but at least I could test recent #km4cft 9:1 unun build & #randomwire with @youkits #hb1b into ATU-10 Autotuner on a beautiful 1st full day of Spring in the U.S.

@N4JAW As Jim would say: "there always something you can find to do" :)

@N4JAW I guess that QRP kit is pretty lightweight compared to my usual FT-891 setup. I really need to learn CW, less stuff to carry around 😅

Hunted a few parks on 20m from home today, signals here in Europe were low but not as bad as expected.

@scrat Yes sir CW is a joy to work especially when conditions are not ideal. Speaking of FT-891, I need to take me out for a few laps for a future POTA activation. The weight is no BIG deal for me. I'll never forget hauling around a lead acid battery and heavy transceivers from the 60's.
@scrat @N4JAW I highly recommend learning CW. Always a good outcome when activating POTA. 73 de DL9UAS
@N4JAW @youkits Six Meters was on fire, though. Central US to New Zealand and New Caledonia.
@k0in I saw that opening and was in tears😭 that I didn't have my FT 817 on hand
