Ok, so a while back @atomicpoet was talking about the classic game ‘XIII’, which dredged up some memories I had of playing it back in the day and really enjoying it, so I added it to my Steam wishlist and picked it up a couple days ago on sale for four bucks and change.

So I figured I livestream a bit of the action for funsies. I have no idea how the game is gonna hold up after all this time, so 🤷‍♂️.

I think I figured out the disconnect/reconnect thing. I’ll give it a test a little later but I believe the issue was that the output stream was set at too high of a resolution and the load on my machine was maxing out the CPU. I’ve scaled down the output to 720p and that seems to have done the trick.

The original is renowned for its cel-shaded comic book style.

I own Classic on both GameCube and PC. I prefer PC due to mouse controls.

Personally, I don’t feel it’s much like Goldeneye.

No One Lives Forever—that game is like Goldeneye, but better.

So far I’m enjoying it. It’s a little simplistic by today’s standards but I like simplistic—I just want to run around and shoot things/blow stuff up. Stylistically it’s still pretty iconic.
