My non-expert suspicions are that common causes for quick deaths in fit 86 year olds would be strokes & heart attacks.
Burst aneurysms. Blunt force trauma, falls & car crashes. Might be up there too?
Respiratory diseases, kidney failure, dementia would usually take longer?
