Sometimes I want to post pictures, but then I don't because writing alt text is so much work. Damn. Is it okay to skip the effort sometimes, so I don't end up doing nothing at all?

@Ullilust The main paradox: pictures are made for avoiding the thousand words.

Writing verbal Sistine Chapel frescoes with a hamster keyboard feels solely stupid.

@Janne6nen @Ullilust

You missed the point.

#UseAltText to describe an image.

If you would stand in a church with very impressive detailed frescoes – and your blind friend would ask you: "Anything special around here?"

Then you would NOT tell them you cannot say anything because of overwhelming complexity.

BUT you would tell what you see – either in a few enthusiastic words, or with a bit more details.

Even a very short Alt Text is better than saying plain nothing.
