@alice The lesson learned?
@mrgrumpymonkey y'all need to get more excited about locks! I mean, ...they're *locks*! Why wouldn't you like 'em?
@alice
No offense but in a competition with sleep... I know who's winning.
@mrgrumpymonkey
all these fans of "locking in" yet theyre nowhere to found when it comes to lock content. shameful. /silly
@alice @mrgrumpymonkey
I for one look forward to the fabrication videos. I have some TPU so I can probably print some soft(ish) handles for the spring metal bits
@alice
Do I want to be known as someone who likes locks?
Yes
it's been 40 years and I've grown rusty
@mrgrumpymonkey
@alice it do be like that
@alice *goes back to like that lock picking post*
(I tend to forget to also like posts when I bookmark them for later reference. But that was a really informative post and I should let you know that I enjoyed it, by liking it!)

@Larymir aww πŸ₯°

I should let you know I enjoy you too πŸ’ž

@alice

I have to say, there's just something about someone saying goodnight to the Internet that demands to be acknowledged. You or anyone else, Fedi or anywhere else. Doesn't matter. Acknowledgement is expected upon seeing it the same night, and I don't want to be rude. Judging by those numbers you just threw out there, I'm far from the only person who looks at it that way.

@alice That always seems to be the way. Like, back in october of last year I spent a couple days making a video, and the middle of it I posted a funny GIF of a glitch I encountered while making it.

That video mostly flopped. That GIF is now up to 41k notes on tumblr, last reblogged a couple hours ago.

@foone @alice the shorter things take less time and spoons to consume
@alice I appreciate the lock content <3
@alice have you tried posting them right before bed? Might be a more active time for folks? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
@alice or maybe the content just fails to... lock on? πŸ™ƒ

@anyia
The length of the post kept me from reading it, not because it wouldn't interest me, but because I'm picking up my daughter from work so can't commit to more than a quick browse of the tl.

Timing is indeed everything.
@alice

@alice maybe that's how some people express their appreciation for the lock stuff...
@alice
Lock video: cool, watch that later probably
Alice toot: omg the lock person is talking
@coolandnormal @alice ok yes actually πŸ’― this 🀭

@alice I'm probably preaching to the choir here but this is exactly how audiences respond to consistent nude content.

*Nude pictures*
Audience: good good, that's what I'm here for, good to know they're there, will probably look at them later, *scrolls right past*
*Creator of nude pictures talks*
Audience:  to me?? πŸ‘‰πŸ‘ˆ

@coolandnormal @alice 🀣
I forgot for a minute alice talk about more than lock

@alice the more in-depth the post, the more energy required to engage. hence less engagement.

i like your lockpicking posts. and i'll be referring to them one day when i get my brain into "learn lockpicking" mode. i appreciate that you've given me that option πŸ’œ

@alice i like your content in any shape or form :3
@alice please try to enjoy each post equally
@alice
Maybe I'm part of the problem. I like your lockpicking series of posts, even if they already cover things I know (it's almost always worthwhile to hear another person's perspective on things, especially when they're knowledgeable) but, I don't hit the "like" button very often.
[reminder to self] also like when bookmarking...
@alice
@alice aww, I like your lockpicking posts, though I may not have caught the most recent ones yet.
@alice Caught up now. And I must say that although I can probably find other sources of lockpicking content, the innuendo adds a unique twist
@alice Ever tried just showing your butt? Apparently it works real well for fursuiters.
@alice One day in 5th grade, because I knew math, I sat down with a 4-digit decimal combination bike lock.
I knew there were 10000 possible combinations, and that I could iterate through them at a certain rate.
So I sat there and broke the lock in under an hour in front of my friends.
They were impressed, I was really not.
Just math and work-rate, 5th-grade logic.
@jab01701mid check out lesson 10 of #LearnLockpickingWithAlice, you can do a 4-digit bike lock in under a minute with some practice.
@alice this is so fedi...
One one hand i love on the other its also kinds sad ^^,
@alice
*drops some more likes at the deity of lockpicking's feet*
@alice The lockpicking likes are *quality* likes, though.

@alice

I can now see your lockpicking posts in all their glory!

Up until a few minutes ago, I couldn't see the images/videos on your posts as nameservers are returning your CDN (cdn2.miau.pub) as an alias for lgbtqiaspace.b-cdn.net., which then has a A record of 127.0.0.1. Possibly UK Adult content supression BS? [Yes, I've aliased it in my local nameserver now, so can see!]

@stevedurbin yeah, we don't deliver images/video to UK IPs because stupid UK laws.

@alice
*sigh*... yeah...

Those were some excellent posts, and everyone should go to your profile to see them. Otherwise just click this tag! #learnlockpickingwithalice

@alice That's because I don't like learning how very vulnerable I am!

:)
